Summer Retreat 2020

Reflections in The Mirror of Dharma

Silent Retreat guided by Gen Kelsang Devi

This silent retreat is a wonderful opportunity to gain some heart felt experience and insight of the profound teachings presented in the extraordinary book, ‘The Mirror of Dharma with Additions’ by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

In week 1, Gen Devi will guide our training in contemplation according to the instructions presented in Part One of ‘The Mirror of Dharma’, with emphasis on training in purifying and transforming the six classes of living being.

Then in week 2, the retreat will continue with teachings on training in meditation by concentrating on the sequence of 15 meditations as presented in Part 2 of the book.

During retreat it is always quiet and our meditation sessions are as silent as possible beyond the usual chanted prayers and guidance. Outside of sessions people have the freedom to choose to be silent if they wish or to talk quietly and meaningfully with each other if they prefer.

The retreat will take place in the quiet and joyful place of Kailash IRC, set within the beautiful and peaceful Swiss alps.

Although this retreat is guided as a whole, not every session is guided. Some sessions will be self-guided to enable practitioners to deepen their own experience and confidence in meditation.

It is possible to attend a part or the whole retreat. You can select from the following options when booking:

1. Week 1: Fri 3 – Sat 11 July, 2020

2. Week 2: Sat 11 – Sun 19 July, 2020

3. The whole retreat: Fri 3 – Sun 19 July, 2020

Please note that each retreater will help with a merit job in order to ensure the smooth running of the retreat. Thank you.
