12th – 18th August 2018
with Gen-la Kelsang Thubten, Teacher of the Special Teacher Training Programme at Manjushri KMC.

On this retreat Gen-la Thubten will guide us over the essential points of the NKT-IKBU Summer Festival 2018. This retreat will be based on the empowerments and commentaries to the practice of Buddhas Heruka and Vajrayogini. Everybody who has received the empowerments of Heruka and Vajrayogini is welcome to attend this course.

Teacher
Gen-la Kelsang Thubten is a senior Teacher of Modern Buddhism who has been a disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for forty years and was the principal editor for many of his books. Having taught internationally for many years, Gen-la brings a wealth of practical and meditative experience to his teachings. He is renowned for his ability to present the many deep meanings contained within Venerable Geshe-la’s books and to show how to integrate these meanings into daily life. Gen-la teaches the Special Teacher Training Programme and the Foundation Programme at Manjushri KMC.

Programme
The retreat starts on the first day with supper at 6pm followed by the introduction at 8.15pm and finishes on the last day with lunch. There will be several meditation and teaching sessions every day as well as a session with chanted prayers. At break times each participant helps with small jobs and there is also plenty of time to go for walks in the beautiful surroundings of Kailash IRC.

Silence
All participants observe silence in the morning until lunchtime. The library and meditation room are silent zones all day.

Language
The course will be held in English, please contact us if you need translation.

Volunteering
Kailash IRC is a non-profit charity and the Retreat Centre, B&B and courses are all run by a few volunteers. Therefore it is common practice during an event at Kailash IRC that every participant helps with some jobs (e.g. chopping vegetables, washing dishes, tidying up etc.) and the final cleaning at the end of the course.
